FAQ

Do you accept insurance?

No, I do not. I try to make therapy as affordable as I can to compensate for not being in-network with your insurance. I do provide superbills with all the required information for you to submit claims to your insurance for reimbursement.

What is an LMHC?

LMHC stands for Licensed Mental Health Counselor. After completing a master’s degree at an accredited university, counselors are required to pass a comprehensive test and work in the field under a supervisor to gain experience before being licensed. An LMHC is a counselor who has completed all of the requirements to be licensed in their state. I am licensed in the state of Florida.

What is a CHt?

CHt stands for Certified Hypnotherapist. It is a certification that requires extensive training and supervision in hypnotherapy.

Do you work with children, families, or couples/relationships?

I work with adolescents 16+, adults, and couples.

I wish I/my child wasn’t LGBTQ+. Can you help them to not be LGBTQ+?

No. The practice of trying to change a person’s gender identity or sexual orientation is called “conversion therapy.” All major mental health associations denounce “conversion therapy” due to it being ineffective at best, and traumatic at worst. My approach is to support the client in exploring their own identity, whatever that may be. I do, however, offer services to those with past trauma from having gone through “conversion therapy” in the past.

Do you prescribe medications?

No, I do not. The mental health professionals who do prescribe medication have gone through extensive medical training, like Psychiatrists, other MDs, and Nurse Practitioners.

Are you LGBTQ+? How do you identify?

Yes, I am. I usually say that I am queer, but am comfortable with the terms sapphic, lesbian, and bi-ish to describe me as well.
